  1. DSLR stands for “Digital Single Lens Reflex”
  2. Prime lens only have one focal length
  3. Zoom lenses vary in focal lengths
  4. Kit lens are a basic lens that comes with the camera they usually aren’t expensive
  5. Focal lengths lower than 21mm are mostly meant for architecture because of their extremely wide angle
  6. Focal lengths 135-300+mm are mostly meant for taking pictures of sports, bird and almost any type of wildlife
  7. 35-70 mm is mostly meant for street and documentary photos and videos.
  8. AF means auto focus
  9. MF means auto focus

  11. ISO stands for international organization for standards(ISO is a number that describes film’s sensitivity to light
  12. Choosing the wrong ISO can result in a noisy image.
  13. If there is more light go with a lower ISO for a cleaner image
  14. If there is less light you should choose a higher ISO for a cleaner image
  15. Shutter speed determines how long the shutter is open
  16. Shutter speed should be changed based on the situation
  17. The Canon T6i ranges from 30 seconds to 1/4000 of a second
  18. Some people use tripods when they have shutter speeds slower than a second
  19. The smaller the f-stop the more the lens opens
  20. The bigger the f-stop the less the lens opens
  21. “Fast” lens has a bigger maximum aperture
  22. The smaller the f-stop the more shallow depth of field
  23. Longer lenses have a more shallow depth of field
